Danville Police arrested a woman today (Tuesday) who was wanted in connection with driving a vehicle into a house in Tilton on Monday (March 5, 2018). Tilton Police say after hitting the house, the woman exited her vehicle and then knocked a 70-year-old man down. Police say the man was battered and robbed before the woman fled.
Danville Police located the suspect on the city’s north side early today (Tuesday) and transported her to the Public Safety Building. She is being held on preliminary charges of Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Battery, Criminal Damage to Property, and Reckless Driving.
The name of the woman is being withheld pending the filing of formal charges by the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Tilton Police say there was considerable damage to the vehicle, but only minor damage to the home which is located in the 100 block of East Fourth Street.
