With the warm weather returning and the COVID-19 pandemic winding down, many of Danville’s neighborhood associations are meeting once again.
Alderman Mike Puhr says that the Lincoln Park Neighborhood Association is holding its first meeting since 2019 on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Friendly Town. He says everyone in the neighborhood is welcome to attend. Alderwoman Eve Ludwig, who was appointed to the council to replace Tom Stone, will be there to meet residents.
The Center City partnership is also being arranged to meet this summer. Alderwoman Brenda Brown notes that it was the late Alderman Stone who used to organize the meetings. She says the first meeting will either be in June or July at Central Christian Church.
One of the groups that has continued to meet throughout the pandemic is the Holiday Hills Association. Their meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month at the Holiday Hills Family Church.
Alderman Rick Strebing also says that residents of Vermilion Heights are looking to restart their neighborhood association’s meetings. They normally meet at Battle Focus Ministries on Warrington Avenue.
