State Treasurer Mike Frerichs told some college trustees and administrators in Danville last night (Tuesday, March 6th, 2018) that his office is trying to help families with college expenses….
Frerichs was in Danville to address trustees and administrators from six Illinois community colleges. Danville Area Community College was hosting the Illinois Community College Trustees Association East Central Region board meeting.
Frerichs earlier cut the fee in half for families who want to participate in a state college savings program….
The Treasurer’s Office actively manages approximately $25 billion dollars. And Frerichs says for every dollar spent to run his office, the office nets $28 for Illinois residents.
In addition to trustees and administrators from Danville Area Community College, others who attended the meeting where Frerichs spoke were from Lake Land College, Parkland College, Heartland Community College, Lincoln Land Community College and Richland Community College.
