The City of Danville will be hosting a jobs fair on Saturday, March 10, 2018, as it seeks employees for seasonal positions. Danville Human Resources Administrator Bill Westphal says the City of Danville is looking for seasonal help in a number of areas. He says those positions include:
- Residential household and landscape waste collection
- Maintenance of roadways and right-of-ways
- Maintenance of grounds
- Facilities and Improvements in City parks and other public properties including golf course upkeep, lifeguards for the municipal pool, and help with Sanitary Sewer operations.
Westphal says the positions play a very important role in providing quality services to the citizens of Danville. He says the job fair will be held Saturday, March 10th, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Danville Public Works Facility at 1155 East Voorhees Street.
Westphal adds the purpose of the Job Fair is to educate and inform potential candidates about job opportunities and the skill sets desired of employees.
Consideration for openings is based on the following requirements:
- Must have a valid Illinois Drivers License with a good driving record
- Must have a high school diploma or GED (You must provide the certificate if you are being interviewed for a position), or if you are still in school you must be over 16 to work at the municipal pool and at least 18 to operate equipment.
- You must be able to pass a background check.
- You must have a good work record and demonstrate sufficient communication skills.
These positions do not include benefits. Participation in the Job Fair and/or prior employment with the City of Danville does not guarantee that an individual will be hired for the 2018 season.
