Sunday, the host DACC Jaguars Men’s Basketball team defeated top-seeded John Wood College 54-48 to win the Region 24 Tournament and advance to the NJCAA Division II Men’s National Basketball Tournament.
The second-seeded Jaguars beat Rend Lake 72-47 on Friday, and arch-rival Parkland on Saturday by a final of 78-70. That advanced them to Sunday’s final against John Wood, where they then had to come back from a ten-point deficit to storm away with the title.
The National Tournament runs March 20-24 at DACC, the 25th year that DACC will host the tournament.
