The Vermilion County Health Department says the number of COVID-related deaths in the county has climbed to 145. The number represents the total number of deaths since the pandemic began. Public Health Administrator Douglas Toole says the latest victim is a man in his sixties.
Toole adds there are currently five Vermilion County residents with COVID who are hospitalized. And there currently are 61 known active cases in the county.
Of the five Vermilion County residents with COVID who are hospitalized, Toole says none of them reported they have been fully vaccinated.
The Vermilion County Health Department will be holding one COVID-19 vaccination clinic per month. Upcoming clinics at the Vermilion County Health Department will be:
- July 14th (This clinic will offer Johnson and Johnson vaccinations from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., and Moderna from 11:00 a.m. until noon.
- August 11th (offering Moderna vaccinations from 10:00 a.m. until noon,
- September 8th (offering Moderna vaccinations from 10:00 a.m. until noon.
OSF Healthcare, the Illinois National Guard, Danville Dans and Vermilion County Health Department are partnering for a Johnson & Johnson vaccination clinic at today’s (June 22nd) Danville Dans home game. The vaccinations will be offered at Danville Stadium from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. for those 18 and up. All individuals receiving a vaccine this evening (Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021) at the stadium will receive a complimentary hot dog and beverage coupon.
The Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois Emergency Management Agency will also be offering Johnson & Johnson vaccinations at the Vermilion County Fair. Vaccinations at the fair are being offered from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., June 23rd through 27th.
