Danville’s Kenneth D. Bailey Academy is seeking nominations for its ‘’Wall of Honor’’. The Academy is accepting nominations of veterans who not only served our country, but have had an influence in Vermilion County and the lives of its residents.
Recipients of the honor will have a plaque and a picture of them placed on the ‘’Wall of Honor’’ in a hallway at the Academy. Tracy Cherry, the school’s principal, says it will allow future generations to understand the pride and respect the county feels for its heroes.
Nominations must be submitted to the Kenneth D. Bailey Academy office at 502 East Main Street in Danville (zip code 61832) by April 18th, 2018.
Nomination forms may be picked up at the Kenneth D. Bailey Academy office, and at several other locations. They include:
- David Fields Administration Service Center for Danville School District 118;
- Vermilion County War Museum;
- Vermilion County Museum;
- American Legion Post 210;
- Elks Lodge #147 IBPOE of W;
- Danville Post Office;
- Danville Public Library;
- Veteran’s Administration Illiana Health Care Medical Center
Nominations will be evaluated by a committee of educators and civic leaders.
