A new business boot camp being launched in Danville Wednesday evening (June 30, 2021) is designed to help both new entrepreneurs and existing businesses. Tricia Teague, who serves as a Ward 4 Alderwoman on the Danville City Council, is the Founder and CEO of the TREP OnTrack Business Boot Camp.
Teague says her venture is somewhat similar with what the Small Business Development Center is doing at Danville Area Community College. But she notes she is a certified coach in addition to being a business advisor. And TREP OnTrack has received close to $100-thousand dollars in seed money for Danville and Tilton area businesses.
‘’We have $90-thousand dollars in funds to be distributed to program participants to assist them in growing their business, and another $7,500 will be awarded at our Trep OnTrack Pitch Contest in November,’’ said Teague.
Teague says the funding is from the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority. She says it is tax money from cannabis sales being reinvested in the Danville and Tilton area.
Anyone who would like more information about the program can attend a launch event at Venue 22, located at 22 North Jackson Street in Danville, starting at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday (June 30, 2021).
