Danville Police are joining a nationwide ‘Drop It And Drive’ campaign…cracking down on people who text or make calls while driving. Public Safety Director Larry Thomason (shown in photo) says anyone caught using their cell phone while driving in Danville will be ticketed unless they have hands-free calling.
Thomason noted that motorists who text while driving are endangering their life and the lives of others…
And Director Thomason notes it is against the law….
The Danville Public Safety Director added that getting stopped for the illegal use of a cellphone can get costly….
Motorists can expect to see increased patrols and enforcement zones as part of the April 16th to 30th distracted driving crackdown.
