Vermilion County Democrats will have a new leader heading into the November General Election. Cari West-Monson has decided to step down from the position of chairman of the Vermilion County Democratic Party for personal reasons. Elected precinct Committeemen have approved Germaine Light as the new party chairman. Other leadership slots that were also decided during the party’s convention include Terry Lake as First-Vice Chair, Patricia Fuller as Second Vice-Chair, Dianna Brenneman as Secretary and acting Treasurer, and Ed Butler as Sergeant of Arms.
The Vermilion County Republican Party will continue to be led by Mike Marron, who is the current chairman of the Vermilion County Board. State Representative Chad Hays will serve as Vice-Chairman of the Vermilion County GOP. Pat O’Shaughnessy was elected Treasurer, and Karen Reese will serve as party Secretary. And the State Central Committeeman position is being filled by Chapin Rose.
