The Danville Police force is back to full strength following the swearing in of four new probationary officers Wednesday.
Two of the new officers are following in the footsteps of parents – Kaitlyn Swisher and Seth Talbott. Both have parents who served as Danville Police officers. The others are new Probationary Police Officers Cole Truex and Cody Frahm.
As family members and some current Danville Police Officers looked on each was administered their oath in a ceremony at the Robert E. Jones Municipal Building.
And as he presented them their badges, Public Safety Director Larry Thomason had a message for them….
Steve Swisher served as a Danville Police Officer. He is proud as his daughter, Kaitlyn, joins the department…
And what about her small size?…
Director Thomason was asked how it feels to finally get the police force back up to full strength…
Those officers sworn-in during the ceremony will be going to the Police Training Institute and will also undergo other training back in Danville before they are released for regular duty.
