State Police K9 who serves in West Central Indiana is going to receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable group in Massachusetts.
K9 Jordy is the Indiana State Police dog that will be getting the new protection. Jordy serves in the eight county Indiana State Police District which is headquartered at Lafayette. It includes Warren, Benton and Fountain Counties in our area.
Jordy’s new vest is sponsored by an anonymous sponsor and will be embroidered with the message ‘’In memory of Marie Jennings.’’
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c (3) charity located in East Taunton, Massachusetts whose mission is to provide protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement. Since its inception, the non-profit has provided over 2,900 protective vests in 50 states. It has been able to do it with private and corporate donations valued at $5.7 million dollars.
There is an estimated 30-thousand law enforcement K9s in use throughout the United States.
