The City of Danville has announced a segment of Logan Avenue will be permanently closed soon as part of the Carle at the Riverfront development. City Engineer Sam Cole says the closure is expected to occur around the beginning of September.
It was announced earlier that Logan would be permanently closed from just north of North Street to just south of Madison square (the intersection of Madison, Chandler, and Logan).
Cole says improvements to the Madison, Chandler, and Logan intersection are scheduled to get underway on Monday, August 16th. Traffic patterns will be changing throughout the project which is expected to take a few months.
Motorists and pedestrians should use caution and follow posted signage during the construction. Detours and lane closures should be expected, and there will be a high volume of construction traffic. So it is recommended that motorists choose an alternate route if possible.
All of the events are tentatively scheduled, weather permitting.
