There is a volunteer component to have your child attend Northeast Elementary Magnet School. Northeast and local music booster programs are expected to be most affected by the proposed stringent screenings.
Dr. Geddis says the District has to follow the law. She adds If a student would be unable to tell the difference between a volunteer and an employee, that volunteer must go through a background check. The school board is expected to discuss the policy at its meeting on Wednesday, May 16th.
