Three members of a Danville family are safe but their home was destroyed in an early morning fire today (Tuesday, August 24, 2021). Danville Firefighters found flames coming from the residence in the 400 block of Sager Avenue when they arrived shortly after 4:00 a.m. They were on the scene for more than three hours.
Some off-duty firefighters were called in to assist those who had already responded to the scene. The home was totally destroyed, and flames caused some minor damage to a vacant home next door.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Preliminary damage estimates are being placed at $15-thousand dollars to the residence and $5-thousand dollars to contents.
Those displaced by the fire are two adults and a child.
