The City of Danville has plans to acquire 28 properties from the Vermilion County Trustee which were obtained because of delinquent property taxes. City staff identified the properties as either being blighted or ones that would allow for future projects.
The Vermilion County Trustee conducts an auction of real estate each year due to delinquent property taxes. The minimum bid price for the purchase of any property in the auction is $750, plus a recording fee of $50.
The Danville City Council’s Public Services Committee recommended Tuesday evening that the city sign any documents necessary to acquire the 28 properties.
The properties the city wants to acquire are located at:

The committee’s recommendation is being forwarded to the full Danville City Council for consideration.
