Hart and Truex also told the visitors about the AVID program being used in local schools — Advancement Via Individual Determination. This year there has been an emphasis in the local schools to have all students attend summer school.

Principal Truex says there are 14 different nationalities of students attending Northeast. ‘’We look at the kids. We monitor what they’re doing and we try to give them what they need,’’ said Truex.
