October 2nd is just a little over two weeks away, and that’s how long we have until the opening of the new Danville Symphony Orchestra season, with DSO partnering with the Vermilion Heritage Foundation and the Historic Fischer Theatre this year. Maestro Jeremy Swerling will be conducting three performances at the Fischer this year, and it all begins with the Roaring 20s and Beyond Show Saturday night October 2nd at 7 PM. Vermilion Heritage Foundation and Historic Fischer Theatre Executive Director Jason Rome talks about two special guests who will be there.
AUDIO: Miss Ali Ewoldt will be here. Ali is a Broadway singer, she debuted I think on Broadway as Cosette in the first revival of Les Mis, and she was also Christine in Phantom of the Opera for a couple of years on Broadway too. Nicholas Rodriguez is another Broadway performer. His debut was I think in Disney’s version of Tarzan. He’s traveled the world doing tours with shows such as Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Hair.
Also on the guest list is Baritone Robert Sims, gold medal winner from the American Traditions Competition.
Don’t forget there’s also the Sinatra styled SWINGIN’ CHRISTMAS show on December 5th, a Sunday afternoon at 3 PM, and then a clarinet concerto performance by Danville’s Tom DeTorres on March 12th. There’s also a Danville Symphony Orchestra Stars of the Silver Screen performance set for April 30th at Danville High School’s Dick Van Dyke Auditorium.
