A Vermilion County Circuit Court Jury has found a Danville man not guilty of murder in the stabbing death last year of another man. Jurors, however, found 24-year-old Ronald Pettis guilty of mob action.
Pettis had been charged with first-degree murder in the May 30th, 2017 stabbing death of Kuron Kimmons. Police had been told that Kimmons was apparently stabbed while trying to break up an argument between several people in the 900 block of Campbell Lane.
There are three other defendants who are yet to go on trial. One was 15 years old at the time Kimmons was killed, but is being prosecuted as an adult.
