The Vermilion County Health Department is reporting 101 new COVID-19 cases (one resident in their 80s, one in their 70s, thirteen in their 60s, thirteen in their 50s, ten in their 40s, eighteen in their 30s, sixteen in their 20s, nineteen teens, seven grade-school-aged children, and three infants), and 122 released, which brings the county to a total of 12,799 positive cases.
Vermilion County has lost a total of 185 Vermilion County residents to COVID-related deaths since this pandemic began.
There are currently 30 Vermilion County residents with COVID hospitalized. There are currently 233 active COVID cases in the county.
The Health Department is aware of nine Vermilion County residents who have become reinfected with COVID since June 1.
Of the 101 cases being reported today, four of them have stated they have been fully vaccinated. As part of the interview process, contact tracers ask each person who tested positive whether they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Of the 30 county residents currently hospitalized with COVID, four of them are fully vaccinated.

Due to Vermilion County’s HIGH transmission status, it is recommended that everyone, despite vaccination, should wear a mask when indoors.
