Some other speakers called for the release of more information regarding the fatal shooting of a man last week by two Danville Police officers. But Mayor Scott Eisenhauer says that investigation by Illinois State Police is continuing….
Thirty-four year old Danathe Gulliford of Danville was fatally shot by two police officers on June 12th. Public Safety Director Larry Thomason says the officers had stopped Gulliford in connection with a domestic disturbance, and that he displayed a gun after ignoring repeated requests from the officers to show his hands.
Some also expressed concern during the city council meeting about the fatal shooting of two people at a club along Commercial Street in Danville Saturday morning. Police have been searching for an 18-year-old suspect in that case. A warrant has been issued charging that young man with murder.
