The proposed Vermilion County budget for Fiscal Year 2022 is now on display. County Board Chairman Larry Baughn says this is a 43 million dollar budget with a surplus in the general fund this time around.
AUDIO: A surplus in our general fund of about $980,000 better than a year ago, so I think things are looking up budget wise in the county, and we’ll look forward to its passage in November.
In order for the budget to be officially on display for 30 days before any kind of a vote can take place, the County Board meeting for next month has been scheduled for the third Tuesday of the month instead of the second, on November 16th.
Fiscal Year 2022 begins December 1st.
