It’s a big event at Danville Area Community College this coming Friday. As DACC spokesperson Lara Conklin reminds us, the usual dinner honoring the top donors to the DACC Foundation has been replaced this year by a big reception honoring all donors who have kept things going these last couple of years, not to mention a celebration of DACC’s 75th anniversary.
AUDIO: The last 18 to 24 months have been a trial for everyone. And yet, our donors really came through during that time. We want to not recognize just four or five specific donors, we want to recognize all of them. We’re having hors d’oeuvres, we’re going to have a program, and we’re unveiling a new donor wall. We’re letting people come and see Jacobs Hall for the first time; it’s our first great big event at Jacobs Hall.
It was just this past summer that the finishing touches were put on the renovation of a former vacant Carnegie Library building into Dr. Alice Marie Jacobs Hall on the DACC campus.
Meanwhile, next week is the traditional SPOOKY SPIRIT WEEK on campus for DACC students, including the big chili cookoff. Also, coming up soon on November 1st, registration begins for both winter and spring session classes.
