The Danville Area Planning and Zoning Commission has cleared the way for a second adult use cannabis dispensary along Lynch Road Road near the I-74 interchange, pending City Council approval. The Sunnyside Cannibis Dispensary is already there at 369 Lynch Drive.
Following a change in state law that allows one dispensary to be within 15-hundred feet of another, Seven Point of Illinois requested a special use permit to be on Lot 1 at the 388 Eastgate Drive address. Brad Zerman, founder and CEO of Seven Point, says he expects to hire 30 to 40 people, and would give top priority to hiring people from Danville. Zerman explained some of the different jobs these 30 to 40 employees would be doing.

AUDIO: It would be kind of like a restaurant where you have the front of the house and the back of the house. So in the back of the house you have all the inventory. You’re receiving deliveries, so when the cultivators come you have to receice the deliveries, count it, shelve it, and put in on the menu. In the front of the house you have people waiting on customers, helping them decide what they want to buy, and recommending different strains and formulations. And then you also have security up front, so you have people checking in customers, checking their ID, making sure they’re 21.
Zerman says he’d love to start construction first thing next spring. Seven Point’s request now goes before the Danville City Council, at their November 16th meeting.
