For the second straight month, Downtown Danville has had an event with such a good turnout that it has already renewed itself for same time next year. In November, a successful Potterfest led to the immediate decision that it would be back on the first Friday next November. And now, this past Friday night’s Night of Lights parade has already led to the affirmative that it will happen again next December on the first Friday. Danville Community Relations Administrator Ashton Greer says, all went very well.

AUDIO: Fabulous, the weather was perfect, we had a really great lineup. We had over 50 floats participate. It was just a beautiful, magical night. I actually was in the parade. I got to ride in a float, and from Williams Street all the way down to Main, I mean the roads were just packed with people. And up around the Fischer and in that block, probably all the way from the Fischer to Temple Plaza. I mean it was just crammed with people.
And just like with Potterfest, Greer says suggestions are already coming in for “How can we improve this?”

AUDIO: I mean I’m hearing tons of suggestions about parking and lighting, and how to continue the awesome tradition. It will definitely be on the first Friday of December next year as well. So if you’re a plan ahead person, you can go ahead and mark your calendar.
So it you are looking at the 2022 calendar, next year’s Night of Lights parade in Danville will be Friday, December 2nd.
