Authorities in Vermillion County, Indiana are investigating the discovery of a body that was pulled from the Wabash River Saturday evening (February 16, 2019). Indiana State Police were called to assist Chief Billy MacLaren of the Clinton City Police Department after the female body was located in the Wabash River near Riverside Cemetery. The location is within the Clinton City Limits.
At this time, the initial investigation is indicating there are no signs of foul play. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday at Terre Haute Regional Hospital in an effort to determine the cause and manner of death. A positive identification is also expected.
The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by Clinton Police, Indiana State Police and the Vermillion County, Indiana Coroner’s Office.
