Crime is taking no vacation in our area over the holidays. Danville Police, Vermilion County Sheriff’s Police, and other law enforcement agencies have been busy this week. Among their calls:
- Danville Police responded to a robbery at the Circle K Gas Station in the 600 block of South Bowman Avenue. The business was robbed around 12:30 this (Tuesday) morning.
- Tilton Police handled a call involving aggravated unlawful use of a weapon on Georgetown Road at Spelter Avenue late Monday night.
- Danville Police arrested a 27-year-old man late Monday morning at Williams and Griffin Streets on two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. The man was also charged with possession of controlled substances, and was wanted on a warrant.
- Danville Police arrested an 18-year-old male on charges of armed robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm or ammunition on Christmas Day. Other information regarding the arrest was not available.
- Danville Police arrested two men late Monday morning on multiple charges including aggravated unlawful use of weapons. One of them – an 18-year-old – was also charged with endangering the life or health of a child. The other man – who is 27 – was also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. No other details were immediately released regarding the arrests.
- Police have also responded to several domestic calls in the area since Christmas Eve. And burglars took no holiday. Among break-ins reported are two on Pottors Woods Road, north of Danville, Monday.
