A popular spot at the library is the new Howard G. Rutan Teen Zone. Lisa Abdelghani is the Director of Youth Services at the Library….

The Teen Zone at Danville’s Public Library also has a 3-D printer that the teens can use.
Library Director Teresa Tyner says Rutan served as a military math teacher and supported the original Teen Space. Funds from his bequest were used for the construction of the new Teen Zone.
In addition, the library now has a large study room, named in memory of local attorney Gill Garman who served on the Danville Public Library Foundation for 19 years. Another donation from Don and Deanna Witzel and the local McDonald’s allowed the library to add ‘Brittany’s Corner’, a first floor area in memory of Brittany Smith, a life-long reader who was tragically killed in an earlier accident.
