Lights were dimmed for a few moments Tuesday evening at the NJCAA Division II Men’s National Basketball Tournament in Danville to reflect on the death last fall of former Tournament Director Dick Shockey.
It was Shockey who originally had the idea to try to bring the tournament to Danville. His son, Rett, reacted to the naming of the court after his father….
Rett Shockey watched over the years as his father and a group of dedicated volunteers prepared for the tournament…
In addition to being the past director of the tournament, Dick Shockey was also the Chief Financial Officer at Danville Area Community College.
