Despite the recent bad weather, and despite not being able to use the Danville High School Auditorium this year due to continuing renovation work, the Midwest Classic Show Choir Competition at Danville High School continued as planned on Saturday, with Friday’s middle school competition moved to Saturday as a weather adjustment.
The Midwest Classic Show Choir Competition continued with performers arriving throughout the day on Saturday. The Danville High School Contemporaries were just one of 27 performers.
Kate Cox, a mother of twin freshman music students who will take over as DHS Choral Music Boosters president next year, said everyone adjusted very well.
AUDIO: Just rolling with the flow, and everybody’s been great about just adapting as we need to go. The groups that are coming in, everybody just seems to be having a great day. Good fun, and things are just moving well so far, going smoothly.
Current Choral Music Boosters president Shawn Owen agreed.
AUDIO: Well we’re excited to have the 25th annual Midwest Classic here at DHS, even though it is in the gynasium, we can’t have it in the auditorium this year. But we’re glad that the weather cooperated for us today to be able to have it here. We thought it was really important for the students, and we’re glad that most of the groups were able to make it today. And we crammed everything into one day, but we’re making it work.
A total of 27 performances were scheduled for throughout the day Saturday.
