Vermilion Advantage, along with the Illinois Small Business Development Center at DACC, is pleased to announce two more awardees of the Back to Business Grant: South Street Saloon and Portal Entertainment.
Portal Entertainment owner Peter Blackmon says that although Portal began as mostly a booking agency for venues, events, and festivals; the major priority right now, which can gain some strength from this, is their commitment to their First Gig Rock n Roll Camp for Kids.
AUDIO: (It’s a) camp for kids during the summer that we hold in Danville, Champaign, and Decatur. And we’re looking to go into new towns with that camp. So this gives us a little bit of money to explore those options and try to get into new communities with that camp.
This State of Illinois program, funded by the federal American Recovery Plan Act, is designed to help small businesses recover from COVID hardships.
