The following is information about a University of Illinois Violence Prevention Study
To Whom It May Concern:
I hope this email finds you well!
My name is Rachel and I work with folks at the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA) on violence prevention efforts. In 2021, we released a violence prevention plan for Illinois: https://vpp.icjia.cloud/
As we move forward, we would like to include the experiences of families in our planning. We are writing to see if you (or someone else at your organization) would be willing to advertise this study to your clients, families, participants, networks service areas, etc. We would be so appreciative if you could post or send out this flyer (see attached) via listservs, social media groups, bulletin boards, newsletters, or other forms of communication.
For the study, we are looking for:
- Parents/caregivers who live in Illinois and who have at least one child between the ages of 15 and 25.
Parents/caregivers will be asked to complete a survey. After they complete the survey, they can provide information for their child (ages 15-25) to participate in a youth survey. Parent/caregiver and youth participants will receive a $25 gift card to Amazon after they complete the survey. If both parent/caregiver and their child complete the survey, they will both be entered into a raffle for iPads!
(If you meet these criteria, you are also eligible to participate!)
Thank you for your consideration!
Rachel C. Garthe, Ph.D.
