The Danville Public Library will be hosting a number of special activities this week, but will be closed one day. Here is the schedule:
April 30: The library will be closed on Tuesday, April 30, for a staff development workshop. The library will re-open on Wednesday, May 1, at 9:00 a.m.
May 1: The DPL Writers’ Group brings together aspiring and accomplished writers of all levels to learn about writing and publishing and to share their work for helpful feedback. This week’s topic is story structure. From 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the second floor conference room. For adults, ages 18 and over.
May 1: Preschool Pals Playgroup meets at 10:00 a.m. in the first floor meeting room. For children, ages 2-6 years, and their caregivers.
May 1: Teens, meet for a Sweet Escape – complete a fun writing activity and Cinco de Mayo cake pops – in the first floor meeting room at 5:00 p.m. For teens, ages 12-18 years old.
May 2: A Teen 3D Printer Class will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the Teen Zone Makerspace. Registration is required; the class is limited to five participants. For teens, ages 12 to 18.
May 2: Tween Gaming is a chance for children, ages 8-11, to game together in the Children’s Program Room from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
May 3: Adults, 60 and older, are invited to Coffee Time to enjoy a hot cup of coffee or tea with snacks, games, and good conversation. This program is held on Fridays from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the first floor meeting room.
May 4: Dress up as your favorite comic book character and enjoy a host of games and activities at DPL’s ComicCon from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Free comics, all ages cosplay contest and more.
