Danville Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr. says his heart goes out to the family of a local man who was gunned down while delivering pizzas Tuesday night. Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden identified the victim as 41-year-old Terry L. Gaines…a Domino’s Pizza employee.
He was shot and killed near the intersection of Alexander and Madison Streets as he walked back to his car after delivering a pizza.
‘’We’re doing everything we can to bring these wicked people to justice,’’ Mayor Williams told VermilionCountyFirst.com News. And the Mayor added that for ‘’someone to value a life for less than $20 is just sickening.’’
Danville Police Commander Joshua Webb says the two suspects involved in the killing of Gaines ran west from the scene (shown in the photo). Both were described as black males. One is about six feet tall with a slender build and was wearing a black jacket or hooded sweatshirt. The other was described by witnesses as being about five feet nine-inches tall with a slender build.
Police are asking that anyone who may have seen the men in the area where the shooting occurred (at Madison and Alexander Streets) late Tuesday night to give them a call. Or you can call Vermilion County Crime Stoppers at (217) 446-TIPS.
Gaines was the third person to be murdered in Danville within a week. His death occurred only hours before funeral services were held for one of the men killed last week.
