You have perhaps seen signing ceremonies for sports teams. But in Danville there was another kind of signing ceremony Tuesday afternoon. Two Westville High School seniors are the first to sign ‘’letters of intent’’ in the Danville area to pursue a career in skilled trades. Kyle Carrell and Dalton Vance both signed letters of intent at Danville Area Community College this (Wednesday) afternoon to accept jobs with Danville Metal Stamping. The signing ceremony was one of many held across the nation.
Representatives from the Vermilion Vocational Education Delivery System (VVEDS), Danville Area Community College, Westville High School and Danville Metal Stamping congratulated the teens during a signing ceremony.
Terri Cummings, Dean of Business & Technology at DACC, was excited about the ceremony…
Cummings said hundreds of SkillsUSA chapter schools across the nation were holding similar ceremonies….
