Now that eight new Danville Firefighters have all completed training at the academy they are making a huge difference on manning.

McMasters notes that before the new firefighters were hired there were often times that firefighters were forced to work extra shifts. And he says that took a toll not only on the firefighters but their families, too.
McMasters was appointed Acting Fire Chief and Police Commander Chris Yates was appointed Acting Police Chief earlier this month.

McMasters says he agrees the Fire Department needs a chief….
During an interview with VermilionCountyFirst.com News, Chief McMasters also discussed the earlier decision to close station 4 on East Main Street….
McMasters is 46 and this August he will have been on the Danville Fire Department for 24 years.
