A lot of farmers markets are getting ready to roll, including one in Oakwood that starts June 1st. Oakwood Public Library Director Tammy Helka also leads the Oakwood Farmers Market, and she recently joined Laura Williams on 1490 WDAN’s Community Connection. Helka mentioned some of the vendors scheduled for this year.
AUDIO: We have, the booth is called Apple Acres Bakery, and he makes pies and cookies and breads. And we have a woman who makes organic breads and granola. And then we have a couple of different produce vendors signed up; and then crafts, homemade crafts.
Stop by the Oakwood Public Library to sign up as a farmers market vendor. It’s a ten dollar registration fee, then a five dollar set-up fee for each week that you participate, five extra if you need electricity. The Oakwood Farmers Market runs each Wednesday 5 to 7 PM, June 1st through August 31st; on East South Main Street, across from the Oakwood Village Hall building, and along the Kickapoo Rail Trial.
