Danville Dans Baseball is getting underway. The Dans home-opener is this evening (Thursday, May 30th) against the Terre Haute Rex. Another game against Terre Haute is set for Friday evening (May 31st) at the stadium.
The Dans are a founding member of the Prospect League, one of the premier college summer leagues. Players from across the nation come to Danville to hone their fielding and batting skills with wood bats. The Dans currently have four former players in the majors, and 23 other Dans players have gone on to play Major League Baseball over the years.
Gate prices this season are $6 for adults and $3 for students in kindergarten through 8th grade. In addition, all Tuesdays are Two-Buck Tuesdays throughout the season, with tickets costing $2. Fans can also get a $2 soda, hot dog, or Busch Light. And Sundays this year are Silver Sundays, sponsored by Deer Creek Manor and Immanuel Manor. Fans 60 or above can get into the Sunday games for just $3. There is also an earlier start time for those games of 4:30 p.m.
