Danville Police are holding two suspects in an armed robbery which occurred late Monday night (June 3, 2019) at a local gas station. Police arrested 27-year-old Elizabeth A. Roberson and 19-year-old Courtland E. H. Rowell in connection with the robbery of a Casey’s General Store at Bowman and Voorhees Streets.
Both of the suspects are from Danville. The robbery occurred shortly after 11:30 p.m. according to Police Commander Josh Webb. He says officers responding to the call saw a vehicle leaving the scene and observed the occupants matched the robbery suspects. Officers stopped the vehicle and their investigation revealed the occupants were the suspects from the robbery which had just occurred, according to Webb.
Danville Police had responded to anoter armed robbery of a Casey’s General Store about 24 hours earlier. The suspects in the robbery of that business in the 2100 block of East Main Street were also a male and female, and Commander Webb says police are looking into whether Rowell and Roberson may have also been involved in that incident.
Police were holding Rowell and Roberson on charges of armed robbery, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of a stolen firearm in Monday night’s robbery.

In some unrelated incidents, Danville Police are also investigating more reports of shots fired. Police received reports of shots fired in the 1200 block of East Main Street shortly before 11 o’clock Monday night (June 3rd, 2019)….at East Fairchild and Hubbard Streets and in the unit block of Grace Street. All of the incidents were reported around 11:00 p.m. Police received no reports of anyone being injured.
