It was absolutely perfect weather for the First Fridays Summer Bash in Downtown Danville this past Friday night.
The Yoga in Kresge Park drew a solid crowd, the Vermilion Advantage job fair was popular; and well over one-thousand estimated to have stopped by for the bash.

As Danville Community Relations Administrator Ashton Greer tells us, last Friday’s Summer Sounds kick off with the live music was also a big success; and remember the Summer Sounds live music in Downtown Danville is 6 to 9 every Friday during the summer; except for the big Balloons Over Vermilion weekend July 8th and 9th.
AUDIO: The Lamont Landers Band is incredible. The sound quality was great; and what I loved this year was that the volume of the music was so good. You could still carry on a conversation and enjoy the company, but the music was great as well. Summer Sounds actually goes on every Friday in Downtown Danville. There’s ten Fridays in a row, with the exception of Balloons Over Vermilion Weekend. We’re really excited about that. And it WILL overlap with First Fridays, so we’ll have events and music all at once.

X-Crush will bring their energetic rock and roll to downtown Summer Sounds for this coming Friday night. As for the next First Fridays event on July 1st, there’s a lot already on the table.
AUDIO: And it’s called “Sports and Brews.” And the concept is that we’ll have sporting events going on on Vermilion Street and North Street downtown, for the evening. And so we have some really fun things in the works; like a bags tournament, a kid’s corner, disk golf putting. Danville Tennis Center is coming downtown and setting up some tennis activities. We’re hoping to do water volleyball. We have a celebrity dunk tank; all kinds of just craziness going on all at once.
