Members of the Danville City Council Public Works Committee on Tuesday evening recommended holding off on the projected sanitary service area construction. The Committee rejected the $6.2 million contract with Cross Construction that would’ve led to a new gravity sewer, force main, pump stations, pedestrian bridge, and joint replacement of the bridge. Construction was to have started this summer. The project is to be presented for action in front of the full council next week.
