Danville High School is expected to have a new principal by the time the new school year begins. District 118 Superintendent Alicia Geddis announced during last night’s regular board meeting that the position will be posted immediately to find a replacement for Kimberly Norton. Norton has accepted a new job as Assistant Superintendent of Student Learning in the Urbana School District, effective July 1st.
Superintendent Geddis announced last evening that a search committee for a new DHS principal is being named. It will submit its recommendation by July 9th, and the school board could vote on whether to accept that recommendation as early as July 10th.
Also during last night’s board meeting two other administrative positions were filled at Danville High School. The word ‘interim’ is being dropped and DHS Assistant Principal Jonathan Rossi will now fill that spot permanently. And Mathew Harmless has been selected as a new dean for the high school. He has been a math teacher there.
