Toby Keith won't be performing any concerts for the remainder of the year, according to his calendar. His site has been wiped of all dates in the wake of his revelation over the weekend that he has been battling stomach cancer for the past six months. Taste of Country reports that per Toby's spokesperson, those previously scheduled dates have now been canceled.
On Sunday (June 12th), Toby shared the tough news on social media writing, “Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery. So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax. I am looking forward to spending this time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can’t wait.”
The post brought thousands of comments of support from fans and friends alike, including Jason Aldean who wrote, “Damn bro. Hate ur dealing with that, but if anybody can kick Cancer’s ass, it’s you. Prayin for ya big man.”
Toby appeared at last month's Toby Keith and Friends Golf Classic in Oklahoma, which raised $1.38 million dollars for his Toby Keith Foundation.
