The Westville Area Fire Protection District reports that over $100,000 damage was done to a house on the southwest corner of Route 1 and Market Street in Westville, at 106 West Market Street.
The alarm was received at 5:23 AM Friday morning, June 17th. Fire departments were on the scene for about three hours, and the fire was fought for about an hour after their initial arrival. Assisting fire departments included Lynch, Tilton, Ridge Farm, Kickapoo, Sidell, Carroll, and Georgetown.
All occupants escaped the house safely. The origination of the fire seems to be in the attached garage area in the back of the house, and the investigation into the cause continues.
The Westville Area Fire Protection District extends special thanks to the Burger King in Tilton, which provided refreshments and sandwiches to first responders on the scene.
