A 65-year-old Hoopeston man is facing theft charges in connection with the theft of several pieces of playground equipment. Hoopeston Police say it was discovered the equipment had been stolen from where it was being stored before it could be replaced at McFerren Park.
Hoopeston City employees were contacted by a salvage operation saying someone had brought in several pieces of playground equipment. The salvage firm wanted to make sure it was not good property. The items were retrieved and a man was given notice to appear in City of Hoopeston Court on a city ordinance theft charge.
