Congresswoman Mary Miller has been declared the winner of the Republican nod for the new 15th District, with a defeat of fellow incumbent Rodney Davis. Her opponent in November will be Democrat Paul Lange. The 15th District includes Southern Vermilion County.
In the 2nd Congressional District, which includes Danville and most of Vermilion County, incumbent Robin Kelly was uncontested on the Democrat side.
Among voters tallied by the Vermilion County Clerk’s office; that’s those outside of Danville and not counted by the Danville Election Commission, here are some numbers of note: Sixty-five percent of Republican County Clerk office voters favored Darren Bailey for Governor, 39 percent favored Thomas Lynch for the 2nd Congressional District, while 79 percent supported Dan Brady for Secretary of State,
Among County Clerk’s Office Democrat voters: 83 percent favored Governor Pritzker over Beverly Miles, and 60 percent favored Alexi Gianoulias for Secretary of State.
