For the second straight year, Darrin Hightower’s DK2, Darrin’s Kids Too, organization will be offering free back-to-school haircuts for boys and girls, kindergarten through 12th grade, at the Danville Boys and Girls Club, 12 Noon to 5 PM this coming Saturday.
Hightower says, there will be plenty for the youngsters to do, eating included, until it’s their turn for their haircut.
AUDIO: What we’re doing is, with the bounce houses and the face painting, we’re having some stuff to keep the kids busy, until it’s the time for their haircut. Now we will have, you know, women’s stylists in there. Now they won’t really be doing a lot of styles, but sometimes they’ll be spraying a little color in the hair for the girls, and things of that nature. So that’s what we’re doing, just basically to keep the kids busy until it’s time to get their haircut.
Hightower says he remembers how fun it was to have his back to school haircut, so making the whole day fun makes sense.
AUDIO: So we want everybody in the community to come out, enjoy the time, eat the free food, enjoy the music, and just have some fun.”
The Danville Boys and Girls Club is at Garfield Park, 850 North Griffin Street.
