Danville Area Community College’s Board of Trustees appointed Stephane Potts to be the chief diversity officer. In this role, she helps the College achieve the diversity goals that are expressed in DACC’s mission, the strategic plan, and in the recently approved Equity Plan. Ms. Potts has been the director for the College’s counseling and advisement department at DACC over the past 12years. As CDO, she joins the College’s cabinet and reports directly to DACC President Stephen Nacco. Her primary focus will be to help increase the recruitment, retention, and graduation rates for students from underrepresented groups, including those with low income. She has a master’s degree in counseling from Eastern Illinois University and is a DACC graduate.
