Most of the discussion at last night’s (Aug. 6th) Danville City Council meeting focused on the casino that is coming. But Mayor Rickey Williams Jr. expects to be able to announce soon the details of another major development for the city.
The Mayor says the other project requires 17 acres involving 66 parcels of land. And he added so far all but 9 parcels have been acquired. Mayor Williams says he expects to be able to say more in a week or so about the project planned in the west downtown area.
Jerry Hawker of the Danville Area Landlord Association, says the project south of Madison Street ‘’will bring life back to the downtown area.’’
