If you were driving by the St. Paul’s Church parking lot at Vermilion and Voorhees Tuesday morning between about 8:45 and 9 AM, you probably noticed the annual pet blessing day. A beautiful day for it as well, as we had a chance to talk with Schlarman Academy South Campus principal Barb Rew.
AUDIO: Today is the Feast of St. Francis Assisi, and he is the Saint of Pets, of all animals. So we always do it on his feast day. Parishioners can bring their pets and the students bring their pets. (Steve) That’s great, and then the students must look forward to this every year. They do every year, because one they get to bring and show off their pets, and they also get to see other students’ pets. And we’ve had horses here before. (Steve) Wow, is that right? Yes, they love to see the horse.
No horses were seen at yesterday’s blessing, but please enjoy these pictures!
